Underwater spinal traction

Underwater spinal traction (traction therapy) is one of the methods of spine treatment, which uses mineral water.
The method of treatment has been used in Russia for more than fifty years.
During therapy, muscle spasm is overcome, displacement of the vertebrae, deformation of the vertebral column is eliminated.
The course consists of 4-6 procedures (in some cases up to 10 procedures) carried out every other day.

Indications for use

The procedure is effective in the treatment of herniated intervertebral disc, lumbalgia with neurological manifestations; lumboishialgia with static-dynamic disorders in the form of limitation of the volume of movements in the spine; scoliosis of I and II degree; kyphoscoliosis of I and II degree; flattening of lumbar lordosis; radicular compression; compression radiculopathy; initial manifestations of Bekhterev's disease; deforming spondylosis. A lesser therapeutic effect is observed with hernias of more than 6 mm.

Contraindications

Therapy is contraindicated in the acute stage of diseases with pronounced pain syndrome; sequestered disc hernias (especially with compression of the ponytail); hemangiomas; instability of the spine; violation of spinal circulation; inflammatory spinal syndromes (arachnoiditis, cicatricial epiduritis); individual poor tolerance of traction (subjectively there is an increase in pain); spinal fractures; condition after laminectomy.
