On Epiphany, divine services and Epiphany bathing in ice holes and baptismal fonts are held throughout Russia. The main tradition of the holiday is the consecration of water, which takes place in temples and reservoirs. It is believed that holy water on this holiday has miraculous properties and is able to heal from diseases.
Epiphany bathing is one of the oldest folk traditions existing in Russia! Doctors remind you that if there are contraindications, it is better to abandon the tradition. Contraindications include diseases of the cardiovascular and nervous systems, respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, inflammatory diseases of the nasopharynx, as well as endocrine diseases. It is also not recommended for pregnant women and the elderly to swim in the ice hole. Bathing in cold water is recommended only for healthy people.
We take care of the health of our guests and invite you to a safe Epiphany bathing in the FOK "Aquacenter" from January 19 to 26 from 10-00 to 22-00 (last stop at 20-20).
On January 18, at 20:30, the rector of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral will perform a ritual of consecration of water in the FOK "Aquacenter".
All pools in the Aquacenter will be consecrated. The water retains its properties throughout Epiphany week from January 19 to January 26.
We are waiting for you and your loved ones for Epiphany bathing at the Ust-Kachka resort!
